Our School Logo
Our logo represents the unique and special identity of our school, connecting us to the land, water, and history that surrounds us.
At its heart is the tūī bird, a symbol of vitality and connection, whose song has echoed through this land for generations. The kowhai trees, seen at our entrance and throughout our school grounds, reflect the natural beauty of our environment and provide a home for the tūī, linking us to the rich history and stories of this place.
Pukekiwiriki, our maunga, stands as a significant landmark, representing strength and belonging.
Our logo also acknowledges the nearby Pahurehure Inlet, where the tides ebb and flow, linking us to the Manukau Harbour. This area was home to both temporary and permanent settlements of the local iwi. The inlet served as a vital waterway, allowing them to launch their waka and travel across the harbour, reinforcing the deep connections between land, water, and people.
For generations, this area has been a place of significance for local iwi, rich in history, culture, and tradition. Our logo reflects this deep connection, honouring the stories of the past while shaping the future of our school community.
